What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a gentle aid to good health!
Homeopathy is a form of medicinal treatment that aims at treating the entire person, holistically, and not just the disease.
Whether the illness is on a physical, mental or emotional level, homeopathy seeks to restore the entire organism to harmony. A carefully selected remedy is used to stimulate the body`s own healing forces, to remove imbalance and to improve the patients state of health.
The principle of homeopathy is to treat the symptoms of illness with the remedy that produces similar symptoms if it is taken by a healthy individual.
Remedies are produced by diluting and rhythmically shaking them. This process makes their action gentle and increases their effect. Minute quantities of this solution is then brought onto a carrier such as tablets, pillules, powders or liquids.
Carefully selected, the remedy stimulates the healing abilities of the body and assists the patient at recovery.
Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (1755 – 1843) is the founder of this healing art called “Classical Homeopathy”. He developed this treatment as a consequence to the invasive methods that were used by allopathic medicine of his time, in the attempt to cure the ill. He recognized that by potentizing, that is succussing and ultra highly diluting, an effective medicinal substance could be created.
